    Abstract
The main problem of oral health is dental caries. The Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) results in 2018 stated that the largest proportion of dental problems in Indonesia is damaged/toothache/decayed teeth (45.3%). The prevalence of dental caries in Indonesia reaches 88.8%. Chemical plaque control such as mouth rinsing is an effort that can be done to reduce dental caries problems by increasing the flow rate and acidity level of saliva. Rinsing with Coconut Water is related to the mechanism of muscle contraction, tongue, and lips that can activate saliva secretion. Coconut contains tannins or antidotes that are useful as antitoxins. Objective: to analyze the effect of rinsing with Coconut Water and Green Coconut Water on Saliva Flow Rate and Salivary pH. Method: pre-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 16 subjects and was given two treatments on different days. Saliva was collected before, at the 5th, 15th, and 30th minutes after rinsing with Coconut Water and Green Coconut Water. Saliva flow rate was measured by observing saliva collected in a saliva cup and divided by time. Salivary pH was measured using a pH meter (Eutech). Results: there were differences in saliva flow rate and salivary pH but not significant after rinsing with Coconut Water and Green Coconut Water (p>0.05). There was no significant relationship between saliva flow rate and salivary pH after rinsing with Coconut Water, while there was a significant relationship between saliva flow rate and salivary pH after rinsing with Green Coconut Water. Conclusion: there was an increase in saliva flow rate at the 5th minute after rinsing with Coconut Water and Green Coconut Water. Salivary pH after rinsing with Coconut Water decreased, but after rinsing with Green Coconut Water, it increased.
