Tooth loss and decreased saliva flow rate are still major problems for the elderly. As you get older, the prevalence of tooth loss and the risk of experiencing a decrease in saliva flow rate will be higher. This study aims to analyze the differences in unstimulated and stimulated saliva flow rates based on the number of remaining teeth in the elderly. This type of research is analytical research with an approach method cross sectional. The population in this study included elderly people aged ≥60 years and regularly participating in elderly posyandu activities with a sample size of 50 subjects, consisting of 38 women and 12 men. For each sample, the number of teeth remaining in the oral cavity will be counted, then the flow rate of unstimulated and stimulated saliva will be collected and calculated for 5 minutes. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The results of this study showed that the number of remaining teeth was 8-17 teeth in the group with the most elderly people, namely 21 people. The mean value and standard deviation of unstimulated and stimulated saliva flow rate as a whole is 1.42±0.75 and 2.16±1.04. Salivary flow rate, both unstimulated and stimulated, based on the number of remaining teeth, 18-31 teeth became the group with the highest saliva flow rate, namely 1.79 ± 0.90 and 2.73 ± 1.39. The results of the Wilcoxon test, a significance value of 0.000 was obtained. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there are differences in the flow rate of unstimulated and stimulated saliva based on the number of teeth in the elderly.en_US
