Heat cured acrylic resin is one of the denture base materials that is often used due to ease in adjustment and aesthetic. However, this material have disadvantages that are porous and water-absorbing which causes disturbed dimensional stability that can affect the convenience of using the dentures if ignored. In the use of denture, denture disinfection is an important step in its treatment and one of the alternative ingredients that can be used is sungkai leaf extract is one of the because it contains active substances such as tannins and flavonoids that affect the porosity and stability of the dimensions. The aim of this study is to find out the effect of immersing heat-cured acrylic resin denture base in sungkai leaf extract with concentration 30%, 35%, and 40% on porosity and dimensional stability. The design of this study is experimental laboratory. The samples in this study consisted of 40 samples with dimensions of 65 x 10 x 2.5 mm for measuring porosity and dimensional stability. In each trial the sample was divided into 4 treatment groups consisting of the control group (aquades) and the sungkai leaf extract with concentration 30%, 35% and 40%, while which were immersed for 2 days 12 hours 50 minutes. The result of the calculation and measurement were analyzed using the One-Way Anova test and the Least Significant Difference test. (LSD). The mean of porosity on the heat-cured acrylic resin denture base after being immersed in sungkai leaf extract with a concentration of 30% is 0.4767 ± 0.05358%, the 35% concentration is 0.6222 ± 0.0358% and the 40% concentration was 0.7830 ± 0,0432%. The dimensional stability ratio on the heat-cured acrylic resin denture base after being immersed in the sungkai leaf extracts with a concentration of 30% was 0.3748 ±0.0181 mg/cm2, the 35% concentration has been 0.5213 ±0.0379 mg/ cm2, and the 40% concentration had been 0.6736 ±0,0398 mg / cm2. The one-way Anova test resulted in a p=0,0001 (p<0.05) significance for porosity and dimensional stability. This showed that the immersion of heat cured acrylic resin denture base in sungkai leaf extract with concentration 30%, 35%, and 40% had an effect on porosity and dimensinal stability. Research results show that the increased porosities and decreased dimensional stability produced at a concentration of 30% is smaller than a 35% and 40% concentration, however, the values obtained are still clinically acceptable and do not exceed normal values, namely a porosity of 11% and dimensional stability of 0.8 mg/cm2 based on ADA No.12. Therefore, oak Leaf extract with a contraction of 30% can be used as an alternative to denture disinfectant.en_US
