Hubungan Pekerjaan sebagai Montir Bengkel Sepeda Motor dengan Terjadinya Gejala Tinnitus
Abstract
Background: Tinnitus is a common symptomp that felt by many people. This symptomp is the most symptomp that felt by patient who came to clinicians. Patophysiology of tinnitus is still not known for sure. Noise is one of risk factor of tinnitus, and working as motorcycle repair mechanic is an occupation with continuous noise exposure. Objective: To determine whether there was a relationship between occupation as motorcycle repair mechanic and occurence of tinnitus. Method: This study is an analytic study with qualitative approach. The methode of this research is analytic comparative with cross sectional design. The sample of this study is motorcycle repair mechanics that meet the inclusion and ecxlusion criteria by employing consecutive sampling methode. Data were collected using Tinnitus Handicap Inventory Questionnaire (THIQ) and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) by interviewing the respondent. Result. Sixty sample of this study divided to 2 group, each group contain 30 respondent, motorcycle repair mechanic and non-motorcycle repair mechanic (control group). Twenty four of 30 respondent have tinnitus (80%), while 9 of 30 respondent from control group have tinnitus (30%). Bivariate analysis showed that very significant association betwen 2 variables, occupation as motorcycle repair mechanic and tinnitus symptomp. Conclusion. Occupation as motorcycle repair mechanic have very significant association with occurrence of tinnitus.
