Rice is an important food crop commodity in Indonesia. One of the problems in rice cultivation is the need for water where if rice is inundated for too long, the rice plant will experience hypoxia. Using superior varieties and the use of putresin (polyamines) is also one way to increase productivity in upland rice. This study aims to determine the growth and production response of three upland rice varieties on the application of putresin with inundation treatment. This research was conducted in the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra at an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level starting in June 2023 until October 2023. This research used Randomized Group Design (RAK) method with three factors. The first factor: Upland rice variety (V) consists of 3 levels, namely Inpago 12 (V1), Inpago 13 (V2), and Odang/local variety (V3). Second factor: Inundation (T) consists of 2 levels, namely Control/Without Inundation (T0) and Inundated (4 days) (T1). Third factor: Putresin Concentration (G) consists of 3 levels, namely Control/Without Putresin (G0), 100 ppm (G1), and 200 ppm (G2). Based on this study, the best treatment was Inpago 12 (V1) variety with inundation treatment 4 days after the vegetative period (T1) and the application of putresin at the level of 100 ppm to increase the growth, development and productivity of upland rice plants.
