    Abstract
Remineralization is the process of returning calcium ions and minerals lost from teeth due to the demineralization process that occurs due to exposure to acid in tooth enamel. The aim of this study was to compare changes in the depth of bovine enamel lesions after application of extract paste and 3% barangan banana peel powder paste. The samples were mandibular bovine incisors which were cut longitudinally and demineralized for 96 hours. The sample size was 6 for each of the 4 treatment groups, namely group I (negative control), group II (3% extract paste application), group III (3% powder paste), and group IV (positive control). Barangan banana peel extract through extraction using the maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. Barangan banana peel powder is obtained through a ball milling process at a speed of 800 rpm for 1 hour. Extract paste and 3% Barangan banana peel powder paste are made into a paste by mixing CMC-Na, glycerin, propylene glycol, nipagin, distilled water, and 1% Barangan banana peel extract or powder. The sample was applied with paste once a day for 3 minutes for 14 days. The depth of bovine enamel lesions was measured using CLSM (Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope). The mean values for the depth of bovine enamel lesions in the negative control, extract paste, powder paste and positive control groups were r 16.55 ± 12.06 μm, 66.73 ± 49.01 μm, 56.95 ± 25.39 μm, 111.65 ± 35.48 μm. The results of the LSD post hoc test showed that there was no significant difference between group II and group III. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in the depth of bovine enamel lesions after applying 3% extract paste and 3% barangan banana peel powder paste.
