Perbedaan Ketebalan Tulang Kortikal Mandibula pada Penderita dan Bukan Penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Suku Batak Ditinjau dari Radiografi Panoramik Menggunakan Indeks Kuantitatif

Abstract

The thickness of mandibular cortical bone is an indication of a decrease in bone mineral density. This research aims to find the difference thickness of mandibular cortical bone thickness between Bataknese patients with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus reviewed of panoramic radiography using quantitative index. Data were processed univariately and bivariately, where analysis of normally distributed data was carried out using the independent T-test, while data that was not normally distributed used Mann-Whitney. The results of this study were the average value of mandibular cortical bone thickness ) in the group of type 2 diabetes mellitus using panoramic mandibular index (PMI) 0.210 ± 0.043, mental index (MI) 3.252 ± 0.656 and antegonial index 2,787±0,375 (AI), while on group not suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus, the PMI 0.241 ± 0.028, MI 3.453 ± 0.419, AI 3.344 ± 0.262. The research concludes that in the PMI there was a significant difference ththickness of mandibular cortical bone between Bataknese patients with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus mellitus on left and overall, while on the right there was no significant difference, on the MI there was no significant difference on the right, left and overall and in AI there was significant differences on the right, left and overall.
