    Abstract
Oral mucositis is a side effect of chemotherapy that causes pain for a long time, so it requires drugs that can speed up the healing of oral mucositis. Healing of chronic inflammation is influenced by collagen which can accelerate the formation of granulation tissue. Collagen can be obtained from sand sea cucumbers, which contain bioactive compounds of flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, alkaloids and tannins. Immune-boosting substances such as antioxidants are found in dragon fruit skin. The aim of the research was to determine the effectiveness of sand sea cucumber extract drops ((Holothuria scabra) concentrations of 30% and 40% with dragon fruit peel extract as a coloring agent for healing oral mucositis in mice. This research is a laboratory experimental study with a post-test only control group design. The samples used were 36 white male Wistar rats and sand sea cucumber extract in concentrations of 30% and 40% with pitch fruit peel extract as a coloring agent. The procedure for making extracts is according to the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia. The research group was divided into concentrations of 30%, 40%, positive control (Gengigel hyaluronic acid), and negative control (without medication). Healing of mucositis was observed pre-clinically and histopathologically on days 3, 7, and 14. Data analysis in this study used theKruskal Wallis as well asPost Hoc (Mann Whitney) (p < 0,05). The research results showed that the 30% and 40% concentration groups had the same effectiveness as the positive control statistically in reducing the severity of oral mucositis based on the oral mucositis severity score according to Thieme (2020). The results of histopathological observations showed that the severity score of oral mucositis was at score 0 with epithelium andconjunctive tissue normal, no vasolidation, no or little inflammatory infiltration and no bleeding, ulceration and abscess. In this study it can be concluded that 30% and 40% drops are effective in accelerating healing of oral mucositis.
