Pengetahuan Tentang Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut Siswa 12 Tahun di Yayasan Pendidikan Shafiyyatul Amaliyyah Medan Indonesia dan Zenith International School Seremban Malaysia

Abstract

Oral health is a fundamental aspect of overall well-being, establishing good oral hygiene practices from a young age can prevent dental and oral problems and improve well-being. The age of 12 is a critical age of development where good habits and behaviors are being reinforced. Understanding the level of oral health knowledge in this age group is crucial in designing targeted interventions and educational programs that can have a positive impact on their oral health in the future. This study aims to determine the level of oral health knowledge of 12-year-old students in Yayasan Pendidikan Shafiyyatul Amaliyyah Indonesia and Zenith International School Malaysia. This is a descriptive research and the respondents in this study amounted to 104 students who were taken by total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire consisting of 21 questions. Descriptive tests were used to assess the level of oral health knowledge. Results showed that in Yayasan Pendidikan Shafiyyatul Amaliyyah, 50.9% had a good level of knowledge, 47.2% had a moderate level of knowledge and only 1.9% had poor knowledge while in Zenith International School 45.1% had a good level of knowledge, 52.9% had a moderate level of knowledge and only 2.0% had poor knowledge.
