This study aims to describe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel “Reneging” by Boy Candra. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method that describes data through words that show the inner conflict of Livka's character in the novel Ingkar by Boy Candra. The theory applied in this research is a literary psychology approach using the theory by Kurt Lewin. The data source in this research is the novel Ingkar by Boy Candra. The data collection technique used in this research is the observation technique. The data analysis technique used is presenting data, grouping data, categorizing data and giving conclusions to the data obtained. The results of this study indicate that there is an inner conflict faced by Livka's character in the novel “Reneging”by Boy Candra. including: 1) approach-approach conflict. 2) approach-avoidance conflict, and 3) avoidance-avoidance conflict.These forms of inner conflict reflect the emotional struggles Livka experiences, where she has to choose between two equally desirable desires or goals, experiences the tension between desire and fear, and faces situations where all choices are undesirable.
