The Effect of Personal Hygiene on Skin Disorders in Orange Farmers in Rakut Besi Village, Pematang Silimahuta District Simalungun Regency
Abstract
Personal hygiene is a person's effort in maintaining cleanliness and health to obtain physical and psychological well-being. Farmers carry out various activities such as planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and others, so they are often exposed to chemicals such as pesticides, biology such as fungi, bacteria and other harmful materials that are at risk of causing skin disorders. The general purpose of this study was to determine the effect of personal hygiene on skin disorders in farmers in Rakut Besi Village, Pematang Silimahuta District, Simalungun Regency. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The population of this study was orange farmers with a sample of 93 farmers selected using random sampling techniques. The analysis used is univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi square test. Hail research shows that the dominant farmer personal hygiene in the category is quite 87.1%. Then farmers' skin disorders are in the category of 81.7% and there is a significant influence between personal hygiene on skin disorders in orange farmers in Rakut Besi Village, Pematang Silimahuta District, Simalungun Regency with a p value

It is expected that farmers routinely carry out personal hygiene habits properly such as nails cut once a week, drying clothes in the sun or under the hot sun, after sweating you should change clothes, wash your hair 2 times a week, shower and wash your hands using liquid soap and wash towels once a week to avoid skin health complaints.
