dc.description.abstractThis thesis is motivated by the PDIP as a cadre party which has been t he first place and also a forum for Akhyar Nasution in his political process, but instead swerved to support and promote the son in law of the 7th president of Indonesia, namely President Joko Widodo's son in law, namely Bobby Nasution. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely research that aims to present facts and events systematically and accurately and analyze their truth based on data obtained in the field. Data collection techniques in this research are interview techniques and libr ary research. Based on the results of research and discussion, Bobby Nasution's determination certainly has factors and reasons from the PDI Perjuangan DPP. The factors that support the determination of Bobby Nasution as candidate for mayor of Medan in 202 0 are that Bobby Nasution has a significant level of popularity and through surveys and certain stages it turns out that Bobby Nasution also has a fairly high level of electability in the city of Medan, at the same time Bobby Nasution is also the son in la w of President Jokowi Dodo, who is a former president from the PDI Perjuangan, so that the central government's support for the City of Medan will be complete and maximum.en_US
