dc.description.abstract | The elderly are characterized by a decline in cognitive function influenced by several factors, resulting in memory deterioration such as forgetfulness, disorientation regarding time, space and place, and difficulty accepting new things. This cognitive decline can be minimized through physical activity. Activity is a crucial assessment in the daily lives of the elderly, requiring proper execution. This research uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consists of all ederly individuals in Klambir V Kebun Village, Hamparan Perak District. The sample size is calculated as 15% of the population, totaling 32 elderly individuals. Statistical test show a significant relationship between cognitive function and physical activity in the ederly in Klambir V Kebun Village, Hamparan Perak District (P-value=.009). Among the elderly, 6 individuals (18.8%) have adequate cognitive function, and 26 individuals (81.3%) have good cognitive function. Furthemore, 27 individuals (84.4%) are independent in physical activities, and 5 individuals (15.6%) are dependent. It can be concluded that cognitive decline can be minimized through physical activity. Therefore, it is recommended that the elderly engage in regular physical activity. | en_US |
