    Abstract
Cervical cancer, caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV) type 16 and 18, is one of the deadliest diseases affecting women worldwide and is at high risk of affecting adolescent girls. Administering the HPV vaccine can help prevent cervical cancer, and this vaccine is available in Indonesia. This study identifies the effect of health education using audiovisual on HPV vaccination knowledge among students at SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Medan. This study uses quasi- experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consists of 56 female students aged 9-14 years from SMP Kemala Bhayangkari I, selected by using non probability sample technique. The instruments for the study include a questionnaire on HPV vaccination !mow/edge and audiovisual education about cervical cancer, early detection of cervical cancer, and cen1ical cancer prevention with HPV vaccines. The intervention on health education by using audiovisual lasts 7 days. The data are processed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with p-value=0.000 (p<0.05). The study recognizes a significant difference in the students' knowledge before and after the audiovisual health education. It is found that students at SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Medan have more knowledge of HPV vaccination after receiving audiovisual health education. It concludes that a health education by using audiovisual is very effective because it provides students with more engaging and clear information that is easy to understand.
