The production process has potential dangers to the work, so it is necessary to implement occupational health and safety. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the implementation of occupational health and safety for tofu processing workers at Mas Ponimin's Tofu Tempeh Business Unit in Medan Polonia District. The research method used is descriptive. The data collection technique is field observation. The research subjects were tofu production workers. The object of research is the work environment of the tofu production section. Data analysis is descriptive and presented in narrative form. The results showed potential hazards such as hot temperatures, slippery floor, hot steam, wood burning smoke, not using PPE. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) efforts that have been implemented include the use of boots, adequate lighting, availability of clean water, toilets, and smooth drainage channels. However, several OHS aspects are not fulfilled, such as the unavailability of first aid kits, not using hairnets, gloves, masks and aprons, no trash cans, and no light fire extinguishers. In addition, environmental conditions such as humidity, temperature, and wet floors also do not meet safety standards. Conclusions and suggestions need to provide first aid kits, provide and require the use of hairnets, masks, gloves, aprons, provide trash cans, and provide fire extinguisher. | en_US |
