    Abstract
Consumer protection is seen as highly crucial, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic which has an impact on increasing online food purchase transactions. The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) issued a Food and Drug Supervisory Agency Regulation Number 8/2020 concerning Supervision of Online-Circulated Drugs and Food. Online food delivery services pose and food safety challenge because producers and consumers are separated by the presence of a third party in carrying out transactions. The problem formulation in this thesis is: How consumer protection againsts safety risks of food online-circulated is regulated in relation to the distribution permits according to BPOM Regulation No. 8/2020; How about the responsibility of business actors associated with consumer losses; how about the legal remedies that can be taken by consumers if they are harmed by violations of food safety in online food delivery order activities. The research uses normative juridical research method, namely a method that refers to legal norms by means of literature study. This research has a descriptive in nature. The data analysis method employs a descriptive qualitative obtained from interviews with BPOM and the Health Office. The research results find that the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency Regulation Number 8 of 2020 concerning Online-Circulated Food and Drugs Supervisory requires processed food sold online to have a distribution permit and guarantee the safety and quality of processed food. BPOM is responsible for overseeing the circulation of processed food by fastering and assisting business actors and coordinating with the Health Service. Business actors are directly responsible for refund the costs or replace goods and/or services to consumers if they suffer a loss. Legal remedies that can be taken by consumers if they are harmed by food safety violations in online food delivery activities can be through litigation, namely through general courts, and through nomn litigation channels, namely through negotiation, mediation, and the Consumer Dispute Settlement Agency (BPSK).
