Hubungan Status Gizi dengan Perkembangan Balita di Posyandu Desa Kota Rantang Kecamatan Hamparan Perak Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

Indonesia's journey towards becoming a middle-income country has gone through many significant stages. However, there has been no change in the nutritional status of children. Indonesia still faces the treat of a high number of children with both undernutrition and overnutrition. Malnutrition during this period can lead to started growth, vulnerability to infections, and ultimately can hinder child development. This study aims to determine the relationships between nutritional status and toddler development at the Posyandu in Kota Rantang Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency. A descriptive correlational study with a cross-sectional method was conducted in April 2024 at the Posyandu in Kota Rantang Village with 37 respondents selected using non-probability sampling, specifically total sampling. Data were collected from Z-Score tables and KPSP and analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results of the Spearman Rank test showed a p value of 0.000 (p 0,05), leading to the rejection of Ha and acceptance of Ha, indicating and significant relationship between nutritional status and toddler development at the Posyandu in Kota Rantang Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency. It is recommended that the Posyandu in Kota Rantang Village conduct regular toddler development assessment and that parents become more concerned and knowledgeable about their children's nutritional status and development.
