Efektivitas Pendidikan Kesehatan terhadap Pengetahuan, Sikap, dan Tindakan Pencegahan Gastritis pada Remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa

Abstract

Gastritis is inflammation process on mucous and sub-mucous layer of stomach caused by irritation and infection. It is frequently found in adolescences due to a various factors such as knowledge, attitude, and action to prevent gastritis. Gastritis is the tenth most suffered disease by the inpatients in Indonesia. It is second raked out of 10 most suffered diseases in Deli Serdang Regency. The objective of this research is to analyze effectiveness of health education on knowledge, attitude, and gastritis prevention action in the adolescence at SMA N 1 Tanjung Morawa. This research uses quantitative design with pre-experimental design using one group pretest-postest designs with a sample size of 77 adolescences at SMA N 1 Tanjung Morawa, selected by using convenience sampling technique. The analysis result shows that the mean of knowledge, attitude, and gastritis prevention action in adolescences is (15.52%), (16.77%), and (29.52%) respectively. After provided with health education, the mean of knowledge, attitude, and gastritis prevention action in adolescences is (18.73%), (37.01%), and (64.86%) respectively. The statistic test result using Wilcoxson signed rank shows p-value= 0.000 (p<0.05). These findings indicate that health education has effectiveness on knowledge, attitude, and gastritis prevention action in the adolescences at SMA N 1 Tanjung Morawa.
