    Abstract
The disease that elderly people often suffer from is cardiovascular disease, due to the degeneration process in blood vessel tissue so that blood pressure tends to increase. One factor that affects blood pressure is sleep quality. The worse the quality of a person's sleep, the higher a person's blood pressure will be and the harder the heart will work, which can result in heart failure and lead lo death. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between sleep quality and blood pressure in the elderly in Dusun Ill, Tandem Hilir I Village. The research design used is quantitative descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The sample used in this research are 60 people using a purposive sampling technique. The statistical lest used in this research is the Spearman correlation test. The statistical test results show a sig. (2-tailed) value of0.000, which is smaller than the p-value of 0.05. Based 011 the analysis of the Spearman test results, there is a relationship between sleep quality and blood pressure of the Elderly in Dusun III, Tandem Hilir I Village. This is related to activity in the Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal- axis (HPA-axis) due to an increase in the hormones cortisol and adrenaline, which has an impact on increasing blood pressure. Progressive increases in blood pressure can increase the risk of hypertension. Hypertension is still one of the 'silent killer' diseases in the elderly. Therefore, preventive measures are needed to control blood pressure in the elderly, one of which is maintaining sleep patterns so that good quality sleep is achieved. This research recommends that the elderly pay attention to their sleep needs so that blood pressure in the elderly can be better controlled. This research is also recommended for health workers to pay more attention to the activities of the elderly, especially their sleep patterns.
