dc.description.abstract | Isolation and identification of the flavonoid compound from the stem bark of
sambung nyawa (Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr.) had been done by maceration
extraction technique with methanol solvent. The methanol extract is concentrated,
then the concentrated methanol extract is dissolved in ethyl acetate, concentrated
and evaporated. The concentrated extract of ethyl acetate was dissolved with
methanol and partition extracted with n-hexane. The methanol layer is then
evaporated until all the methanol has evaporated. The concentrated methanol extract
was then analyzed by TLC, then separated by column chromatography with silica gel
as the stationary phase and chloroform:methanol (90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40)v
/v as
the mobile phase. The compund obtained was purified by preparative thin layer
chromatography with chloroform : ethyl acetate (80:20) v
/v. eluent and yellowy green
amorphous solid was obtained as much as 18 mg with Rf=0,62 using chloroform :
ethyl acetate (80:20) v
/v. The UV-Visible spectrum show a wavelength (λmax) 324
nm. The FT-IR spectrum shows the presence of OH stretch, C-H sp3 stretch, C=O
stretch, C=C aromatis stretch, C-O stretch, C-H sp2
bend out-of-plane respectively
according to wave 3431,36; 2924,09; 1656,85; 1543,05; 1103,28 dan 800,46 (cm-1
).
The 1HNMR shows the presence of protons H-2, H-2’, H-6’, and H-8. Based on the
interpretation of spectroscopic data, it shows that the isolated compound is a
flavonoid compound from the isoflavone group. | en_US |
