Hubungan Durasi Mengemudi dan Sikap Kerja dengan Keluhan Nyeri Punggung Bawah pada Sopir Bus Trans Binjai

Abstract

Lower Back Pain Complaints (LBP) are stiffness or pain that occurs in the lower back area and its surroundings. Low back pain is also the most common musculoskeletal disorder encountered in work activities. Bus driver is a job that requires a person to work in a sitting position while driving for a long time. This study aims to determine the relationship between driving duration and work attitude with lower back pain complaints for Trans Binjai Bus drivers. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples was 35 bus drivers. Data processing was carried out using univariate and bivariate analysis chi square test. The results showed that 57.1% of drivers aged 35 years, 100% of drivers were male, 71.4% of drivers were married, 34.3% of drivers had worked > 5 years, 94.3% of drivers have a high school level of education, 77.1% of drivers had a smoking habit, 51.4% of drivers with inadequate driving duration (> 8 hours/day), 68.6% of drivers with high-risk work attitudes experienced complaints of lower back pain, and 57.1 % of drivers at very high risk of experiencing lower back pain. The results of statistical tests showed that there is a relationship between driving duration and lower back pain complaints (p value = 0.016) < 0.05, and relationship between work attitude and lower back pain complaints (p value = 0.038) < 0.05 for Trans Binjai Bus drivers . It is recommended that administrative controls such as compliance with rest time arrangements can be carried out with discipline by the bus driver and the facilities and equipment in the bus steering room can be adjusted to increase the bus driver's comfort when working.
