Sintesis dan Karakterisasi Sio2 Berbasis Abu Sekam Padi (Rice Husk Ash)
Synthesis and Characterization of Sio2 Based on Rice Husk Ash
Abstract
The research that has been done on Synthesis and Characterization of SiO2 Based on
Rice Husk Ash with various sintering temperatures of 700 ℃, 750 ℃, 800 ℃, 850
℃, 900 ℃, and 950 ℃ activated with 10% ZnCl2 solution using the coprecipitation
method with deposition for 24 hours. This study aims to determine the optimum
temperature of SiO2 synthesis based on rice husk ash through the characterization of
physical and morphological tests and the structure of rice husk ash. In this research,
it has successfully synthesized SiO2 with the best results of rice husk ash samples that
were successfully synthesized with the largest silica content at a sintering
temperature of 700 ℃ with XRF results obtained SiO2 of 85.411%. Physical
properties testing showed density that is 2,16g/cm3, water absorption at 700℃
(2.18%), and porosity at 700℃ (7.44%). XRD testing showed the successful
synthesis of SiO2 by obtaining a diffraction peak point at 2θ = 22.03° with hkl (110)
having an amorphous structure. FTIR test spectra showed the presence of Si-O-Si
functional groups at wave numbers 798.12 - 804.83 (cm-1) which proved that the
synthesis of SiO2 was successfully carried out. SEM analysis results show that SiO2
particles are evenly distributed (homogeneous) at a sintering temperature of 700 ℃
and are supported by EDX results containing Si (15.6%); O (29.04%); C (55.0%) at
700 ℃.
