I (supplementary food besides breast milk) should be given to 180 or 6 months-old babies, along with breastfeeding them. In Indonesia, giving early MPASI to 0-6 months-old babies is still high which has the effect on the incidence of diarrhea and the rate of stunting. The objective of the research is to explore women's experience in giving early MPASI to 0-6 months-old babies at Sei Baharu Village. The research uses qualitative research method with descriptive phenomenological approach. The participants are 5 women who have 0-6 months -old babies at Sei Baharu Village, taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data are collected by conducting in-depth interview and analyzed by using Collaizi method. The result of the research shows that there are three themes:1) the practice of giving early MPASI, 2) the reasons for giving early MPASI, and 3) the women's expectation of giving MPASI. The conclusion is that the majority of women who give early MPASI are influenced by socio-culture and family support in giving early MPASI, and the lack of information from the health personnel concerning giving MPASI correctly to babies. It is recommended that the health care providers provide counseling and information about MPASI for women who have 0-6 months -old babies so that they will be aware of the importance of giving early MPASI in the correct time.en_US
