Hubungan Aktivitas Fisik terhadap Kadar Uric Acid pada Lansia di Posbindu Asther V Desa Lama Kecamatan Hamparan Perak

Abstract

High levels of Uric Acid (hyperuricemia) cause the deposition of monosodium urate (MSU) in the joints and surronding tissues. The deposition of MSU crystals activates the inflammatory response and causes join inflammation. Physical activity is one of the factors that influence Uric Acid levels. The objective of the study is to determine the relationship between physical activity and Uric Acid levels in the elderly at Asther V Integrated Guidance Post (Posbindu), Lama Village, Hamparan Perak Sub-District. This study uses a descriptive correlational design with a Cross-sectional approach. The sample consists of 42 elderly people who meet the inclusion criteria at Asther V Integrated Guidance Post (Posbindu), Lama Village, Hamparan Perak Sub-District. Samples are taken using the Total Sampling technique. The results show that there is no significant relationship between physical activity and Uric Acid levels (P-Value = 0,376, OR = 0,417). Based on the results of the study, it is hoped that future study will take a large number of samples. Health services are also expected to provide health education to prevent high Uric Acid levels in the elderly by maintaining a balance betwee Uric Acid levels and physical activity.
