In the development of new technologies, Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR)
is one that can detect, measure and identify distant object. One application of LiDAR
is automated vechiles, which can solve transportation problems such as avoiding
surrounding obstacles. This research was carried out with a design that uses an
infrared laser and photodetector to generated and detect modulated laser signals. With
the dual modulation environment used, it can detect amplitude values, phase shift and
measured distances. The result show that the research can read high-resolution values
for the variety of objects used with the proposed algorithm. The distance measurement
results measured with the reference distance have a difference that is not too big, such
as aluminium (0,114 m), aluminium foil (0,027 m) and plastic (0,082 m). Measurement
errors can be overcome by minimizing errors between the transmitter and receiver.
The design can analyze distances up to 56 m on objects made of aluminium foil, 52 m
on aluminium and 33 m on objectsmade of plastic. This research is a promising
solution for more precise and accurate distance measurements.
