Academic stress experienced by nursing students is closely related to teaching-learning activities. It is triggered by many assignments, practical work, clinical practices, and skill labs in campus. If it occurs continuously and for a long time, it can cause students to undergo self-regulation fatigue. The purpose of the research is to find out the correlation between academic stress and self-regulation fatigue in the seniors of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The research uses descriptive correlation design. 125 seniors are used as samples and respondents, taken by using proportional random sampling technique. The research instruments are questionnaires on demography, questionnaire of Godzella's Student-Life Stress Inventory, and questionnaire of Self-Regulation Fatigue Scale (SRF). The data are analyzed using Pearson's Product Moment correlation test. The result of the research shows that 87 respondents (69.6%) underwent academic stress in moderate category and 84 respondents (67.2%) underwent self-regulation fatigue in moderate category. The result of the statistical analysis shows that correlation coefficient is r-0.686 with p-value=0.00<0.05 which indicates that there is a positive and significant correlation between the variables. It is recommended that the Educational Institution facilitate the seniors to optimize consultation so that they will be able to manage their stress and self-regulation fatigue properly.
