dc.description.abstract | Dermatitis is a skin inflammation occurs in the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin which can be caused by bacteria or fungus which is marked by symptoms such as itching, red spots, rashes, and thickened or hardened skin surface. The prevalence of dermatitis in Indonesia is 60.79 percent (Soegiarto et al, 2019). According to the Medan City Health Department, there are 23,529 cases of dermatitis with prevalence 4.75%. This study aims to determine the relationship between the intrinsic factors including knowledge, personal hygiene, history of allergy and extrinsic factors including work history, room temperature, room humidity with the incidence of dermatitis productive age in Gambir Baru Public Health Center Work Area. This is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design. The population is all people of productive age at working area of Gambir Baru Health Center. Sample was 94 that selected using simple random sampling. Primary data was obtained through interviews using questionnaires, observation, and secondary data from the Gambir Baru Health Center. Data was analyzed using chi square test. The results showed that there was relationship between knowledge (p=0.001), personal hygiene (p=0.001), history of allergy (p=0.003), work history (p=0.001), room temperature (p=0.001), and room humidity (p=0.001) with incidence of dermatitis. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the incidence of dermatitis at productive age in Gambir Baru Health Center Work Area is quite high with a proportion of 67%, so it is recommended that the public should maintain cleanliness and health by implementing clean and healthy living habits. | en_US |
