dc.description.abstract | Sewing is a job that is done to produce goods or products by connecting several fabrics with the help of machines or manually. Occupational diseases that can be experienced by tailors are visual disorders. Factors that can affect eye fatigue are age, length of work, object viewing distance and lighting intensity. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with eye fatigue in tailors in Pasar Berdikari, Badak Bejuang Tebing Tinggi Village. The type of research used was an analytic survey with a Cross Sectional approach. The sample in this study used a total sampling technique totaling 33 people. The measuring instruments used in this study were VFI questionnaire, meter and Lux Light Meter Pro application. Data analysis using Pearson Correlation test. The results showed that eye fatigue that is always felt in tailors is double or shadowed vision as many as 6 people (18.2%), blurred vision, watery eyes, dryness, itching and glare each as many as 4 people (12.1%), difficulty focusing vision as many as 3 people (9.1%) and drowsiness as many as 1 person (3.0%). The results also showed a relationship between age (p = 0.010 and r = 0.440), distance to see objects (p = 0.002 and r = -0.529), lighting intensity (p = 0.013 and r = -0.428) and there was no relationship between length of work in tailors. Suggestions for tailors to adjust the distance to see objects, adjust the lighting level and also relax the eyes to reduce eye fatigue | en_US |
