Health promotion as part of the public health program in Indonesia helps realize the vision of health development in Indonesia. Health development has several important components, one of which is meeting the nutritional needs of individuals and society. One of the big challenges of nutritional problems in Indonesia is micronutrient deficiencies, including iron (Fe) deficiency or anemia. Anemia sufferers increased in 2018 to 48.9 percent, mostly experienced by adolescent aged 15 to 24 years. Health promotion needs to be carried out as an effort to increase public awareness, especially adolescent girls, so that they can prevent anemia. Delivering education in the form of video media on Instagram and e-posters on WhatsApp can be an option in carrying out health promotions about anemia. The general aim of this research is to analyze the influence of videos on Instagram and e-posters on WhatsApp about anemia on the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls at SMK Negeri 2 Binjai. This type of research is quantitative research with a Quasi Experiment Design and Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample for this study consisted of 36 adolescent girls. Data were analyzed using the Wicoxon Test. The results of the study showed that there were differences in the average knowledge scores of adolescent girls before (13.22) and after (17.65) as well as the attitude of adolescent girls before (9.83) and after (12.83) being given intervention through video media on Instagram with p value = 0.0001. There are also differences in the knowledge of adolescent girls before (10.78) and after (14.83) as well as the attitudes of adolescent girls before (10.22) and after (12.00) being given intervention through e-poster media on WhatsApp with p values of knowledge and attitude = 0.0001 and 0.0011. It is known that video media on Instagram has more influence on the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls at SMK Negeri 2 Binjai. In conclusion, there is an influence of video media on Instagram and e-posters on WhatsApp on the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls about anemia. Adolescent girls are advised to search for clear information about anemia by using social media on their smartphones.
