The Effect of Health Education via WhatsApp on Knowledge About IVA Tests Among WUS Groups in Klambir Lima Kampung Village
Abstract
Introduction: Early detection using acetic acid (IVA) aims to identify cells undergoing dysplasia. Low participation rates in IVA tests are a contributing factor to the development of cancer and hinder early treatment. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of health education via WhatsApp on knowledge about IVA tests among WUS groups in Klambir Lima Kampung Village. Methods: This quantitative study employs a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample size is 61 individuals, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument was a knowledge questionnale. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: The analysis yielded a P-value of 0.000 <a 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results after providing health education via WhatsApp about the IVA test to WUS groups in Klambir Lima Kampung Village. Conclusion: Providing health education through WhatsApp is highly effective as it delivers information easily, quickly, and clearly through media such as videos, posters, and leaflets.
