The low knowledge and attitude of giving exclusive breastfeeding to breastfeeding mothers can influence the level of success in achieving exclusive breastfeeding for babies. The percentage of babies aged less than 6 months who receive exclusive breastfeeding in the North Sumatra Province region reaches 61.98% with the province being the 4th lowest in achieving exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia in 2023. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of breastfeeding mothers by providing exclusive breastfeeding to babies at the Tomuan Pematangsiantar health center. This research uses a quantitative type of research with a cross-sectional approach. The research results showed that the majority of 46 respondents (80.7%) had good knowledge and 50 respondents (87.7%) had a positive attitude and 45 respondents (78.9%) provided exclusive breastfeeding. The results of the Spearman rho analysis test of the knowledge variable with exclusive breastfeeding obtained a p value of 0.000 (p<0.05) and the attitude variable with exclusive breastfeeding with a p value of 0.000 (p<0.05). This research can be concluded that there is a relationship knowledge of breastfeeding mothers and giving exclusive breast milk to babies at the Tomuan Pematangsiantar Health Center and there is a relationship between breastfeeding mothers' attitudes and giving exclusive breast milk to babies at the Tomuan Pematangsiantar Community Health Center. It is hoped that the Tomuan Community Health Center regional health service team will be able to continue providing information about the importance of mothers giving exclusive breast milk to their babies.
