Hubungan Karakteristik, Persepsi dan Teman Sebaya dengan Perilaku Merokok pada Siswa SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Meriah Kabupaten Aceh Singkil

Abstract

Young smokers are increasing due to easy access to them and massive cigarette advertising. Smoking behavior is an action carried out by a person that is related to burning tobacco and the inhalation power of a substance. The smoking habit is one of the public health problems in Indonesia that is still difficult to stop. Until now, smoking is still a habit that is commonly carried out by some Indonesian people in their daily lives. Based on the results of observations carried out in February 2024, it shows that there are several students at SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Meriah, Aceh Singkil Regency who have students who smoke. The general aim of this research is to determine the relationship between perceived characteristics and peers with smoking behavior among students at SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Meriah, Aceh Singkil Regency. The type of research used in this research is descriptive quantitative with an analytical survey method using a cross-sectional design. The number of samples used in this research was 69 respondents using accidental sampling technique. The results obtained showed that there was a relationship between characteristics and smoking behavior in students of SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Meriah, Aceh Singkil Regency, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.001 or pvalue <0.05, there was a relationship between perception and smoking behavior in students of SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Meriah, Aceh Regency. Singkil as evidenced by a significance value of <0.001 or p-value <0.05, and there is a relationship between peers and smoking behavior among students at SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Meriah, Aceh Singkil Regency as evidenced by a significance value of 0.048 or p-value <0.05 .
