dc.description.abstract | Skin complaints are often found in densely populated places such as Islamic Boarding Schools. Good personal hygiene and the availability of environmental sanitation facilities that meet health requirements are needed to prevent skin complaints. The aim of this study was to analyze the conditions of personal hygiene, environment sanitation, and skin complaints at Musthafawiyah Purba Baru Islamic Boarding School. This research method is descriptive. The population was 11501 people and the sample was 100 people. Samples were taken using stratified random sampling method. The study results showed that the respondent who experienced skin health complaints were 52% (52 people) with the most characteristics being male by 57,7% (30 people), Tsanawiyah education level (SLTP) by 63,5% (33 people), and length of stay 1-3 years by 40,4% (21 people). The results showed that respondents in good hand and nail hygiene were 72% (72 people), skin hygiene in good category were 75% (75 people), genital hygiene in good category were 85% (85 people), clothes hygiene in bad category were 62% (62 people), towel cleanliness in bad category were 53% (53 people) and bed cleanliness in good category were 54% (54 people). Most of the physical conditions of dormitories haven’t met requirements such as 18% (11 people) of male students haven’t had windows, all of male students haven’t had ventilation, 34.4% (21 people) of male students with the lighting wasn’t bright enough so it is not clear to read normally, and all of female students had the density that haven’t met the requirements. The condition of basic sanitation haven’t met the health requirements. Expected to students to increase self awareness in maintaining personal hygiene, the manager of student’s dormitory to improve basic sanitation and physical condition of dormitories. | en_US |
