Hypertension is a general and serious condition which can cause health problem. Hypertension or high blood pressure is defined as systolic blood pressure (above 130 mmHg) and diastolic blood pressure (above 80 mmHg). The elderly are a group of people which has high risk of being affected by hypertension. Old-age is a last step owned by a person who will undergo aging or decreasing in mind and body. Physical activity is very important to be done by hypertension patients because it can make organs strong and flexible, exercise heart muscle and peripheral pressure which can prevent the increase in blood pressure. The purpose of the research is to find out the correlation between physical activity and blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension at Tandem Hulu I Village, Deli Serdang Regency. The research uses descriptive correlation method with cross sectional design. The samples are 4 elderly people as respondents, taken by using probability sampling with simple random sampling technique. The result of the research shows that of 16 respondents, 15 of them (93.8%) who are not do physical activity suffer from hypertension in stage 2, and of 48 respondents, 30 of them {62.5%) who do physical activity suffer from hypertension in stage 2. The
result of Chi Square statistic test shows that p-value = 0.025 (p<0.05) which
indicates that there is the correlation between physical activity and blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension at Tandem Hulu I Village in which the elderly who are active physically have the possibility of 9 times suffering from hypertension in stage 2, compared with the elderly who are not active physically.
