dc.description.abstract | The Health Profile of Medan City in 2021 recorded diarrhea cases at Tegalsari
Health Center reaching 4.39% and ranked 6th highest out of 41 Puskesmas in
Medan City. Ho use environmental sanitation is one of the environmental factors
that can cause diarrhea. This study aims to determine the relationship between
home environmental sanitation and fly density with the incidence of diarrhea in
scavengers in Tegalsari Mandala II Village, Medan Denai District. This study used
a cross sectional design with accidental sampling technique, with a total sample
size of 79 people. Data collection was obtained directly by researchers through
observation and interviews with research questio nnaires. Data analysis showed
that there was a significant relationship between healthy homes and the incidence
of diarrhea with p value = 0.001, there was a significant relationship between clean
water facilities and the incidence of diarrhea with p value = 0.0 16 , there was a
significant relationship between latrine facilities and the incidence of diarrhea with
p value = 0.00 5 , There is a significant relationship between waste water
management facilities and the incidence of diarrhea with p value = 0.000, there is
a significant relationship between waste management facilities and the incidence
of diarrhea with p value = 0.004, there is a significant relationship between fly
density and the incidence of diarrhea with p value = 0.000, there is a significant
r elationship between personal hygiene and the incidence of diarrhea with p value
= 0.007. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between healthy homes,
clean water facilities, latrines, waste water management, waste management, fly
density and per sonal hygiene with the incidence of diarrhea in Neighborhood 14
Tegalsari Mandala II Village, Medan Denai Subdistrict. It is recommended for
waste pickers to maintain the home environment and basic sanitation so that it
