Perineal wounds occur during childbirth, either spontaneously or through interventions or instruments. If not properly trealed, these wounds can lead to infections. Non-phormacological therapy with Binahong leaves can be used to prevent perineal laceralion infections. Binahong leaves contain phytochemical compounds that are scientifically proven fo effectively treat wounds. This study uses quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent pre-test post-test control group design
involving two groups. The sample consisted postparfum mothers, with 8 in the intervention group receiving commercial Binahong gel and 8 in the control group receiving povidone-iodine. Data collection was conducted using the Redness, Edema,
Ecchymosis, Discharge, Approximation (REEDA) scale observation sheet. The REEDA scale was used as the research instrument, and data analysis was conducted
using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whilney tests. The Wilcoxon test results showed a p-
value of 0.726 in the control group and a p-value of 0.54 in the intervention group. The Mann-Whitney_test results showed a pre-intervention p-value of 0.003 and a post-intervention p-value of 0.001 between the control and intervention groups. Based on the results, Binahong leaf gel is expected to become an alternative treatment for perineal wounds in postpartum mothers.
