Menstruation is the periodic discharge of blood and mucosa/ tissue from the inner lining of the uterus through the vagina. Adolescent girls typically begin menstruating at the age of I 2 to 13 years. However, the menstrual cycle varies among individuals, with some experiencing regular cycles and others having irregular cycles, which may indicate fertility issues. Dietary patterns can influence the menstrual cycle, as nutritional deficiencies often arise from poor dietary habits, such as an unbalanced diet, leading to irregular menstruation in many adolescents. Based on this premise, this study aims to determine the relationship between dietary patterns and menstrual cycles in adolescent girls at SMA Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. Methodology: This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample size is 66 respondents, selected using simple random sampling. Data on dietary patterns and menstrual cycles were collected using questionnaires. Results: The chi-square test results indicate a p-value of 0.017 (p<0.05), suggesting a significant relationship between dietary pa/terns and menstrual cycles in adolescent girls at SMA Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between dietary patterns and menstrual cycles in adolescent girls at SMA Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar.
