    Abstract
Mosquitoes are one of the vectors that carry infectious diseases to humans and animals through their bites. The use of biological insecticides is an alternative vector control that is environmentally friendly because it is easily decomposed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of berastagi orange peel extract as an active ingredient of refill liquid to kill culex sp mosquitoes. The type of research used in this study was quantitative research with true experiment method with post-test only control design. The samples in this study were 600 female Culex sp mosquitoes aged 2-5 days which were divided into test cages containing 25 mosquitoes each with the provision of extract concentrations (15%, 30%, 45%, and 60%), negative control (ethanol) and positive control (dimefluthrin). Repetition was done 4 times with exposure time every 1 hour for 4 hours. The results of this study showed the death of Culex sp mosquitoes after the use of mosquito repellent Berastagi Orange peel extract (Citrus aurantium L.) at a concentration of 15% as many as 11% of test mosquitoes, 30% concentration as many as 35% of test mosquitoes, 45% concentration as many as 43% of test mosquitoes, and the highest mosquito mortality occurred at a concentration of 60%, namely 52% of test mosquitoes. The results of data analysis of one way anova test obtained p-value = .000 (p < 0.05). The test results show that there are significant differences in each treatment. The probit test results showed that the estimated Lethal Concentration (LC50) value in Berastagi Orange peel extract (Citrus aurantium L.) was at a concentration of 53.784%. It is expected that in further research to conduct photochemical tests to determine the content of active ingredients in Berastagi Citrus peel (Citrus aurantium L.)
