The research to find out the right were and response of elephant grass plants (Pennisetum purpureum) given by banana stem bokashi with the addition of eggshells. This research was conducted at the experimental field and Research Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The implementation of the research began in July to October 2023. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments, namely P01 = goat feces fertilizer, P02 = 90% banana stems, P1 = 85% banana stems + 5% eggshells, P2: 80% banana stem + 10% eggshells, P3 = 75% banana stem + 15% eggshells and P4 = 70% banana stem + 20% eggshells, each treatment has 5 replications. The research variables observed were plant height, leaf width, number of tillers, fresh matter production and dry matter production.
The results showed addition of eggshells had highly significant effect on plant height, leaf width, number of tillers, fresh material production and dry material production. The best research result on plant height, leaf width, number of tillers, fresh matter production and dry matter production of elephant grass at P1(85% banana stem + 5% eggshells) when compared with other treatments. It is concluded that P1(85% banana stem + 5% eggshells) show the best results compared to other treatments on productivity napier grass.
