dc.description.abstractJabon wood has weaknesses in terms of strength, durability and durability, so it is necessary to improve the quality of the wood. This research aims to analyze the physical and mechanical properties of laminated boards from Jabon under various treatments of citric acid, borax and polystyrene and determine the optimum type of solution for modifying Jabon laminated boards. Jabon lamina was given 3 treatments, namely citric acid, borax, and polystyrene by vacuuming for 30 minutes and pressing for 30 minutes at a pressure of 6.6 bar. The laminate board consists of 3 layers measuring 30 cm long x 15 cm wide x 1.5 cm thick, glued together using 280 g/m2 isocyanate adhesive which is cold pressed for 24 hours and conditioned for 1 day. Laminate boards were tested for physical properties in the form of weight gain, density, water content and mechanical properties in the form of bending strength, fracture strength and shear strength. Next, it was analyzed using a non-factorial completely randomized design. The results of research on physical properties from weight addition testing ranged from 7.67-8.33%, density ranged from 0.37-0.45 g/cm3, water content ranged from 8.00-11.28%. The mechanical properties test results from flexural strength testing ranged from 44,188.37-60,074.60 kgf/cm2, fracture strength ranged from 381.50-640.75 kgf/cm2, and shear strength ranged from 33.54-50.30 kgf/cm2. Based on the results of the analysis of various types of laminated board, the best is found in the polystyrene impregnation treatment.en_US
