dc.description.abstract | The prevalance of sleep disorders among the elderly is relatively high in Indonesia, and unrecognized sleep quality greatly affects functional health, including cognitive function. Sleep disturbances often occur in the elderly due to insufficient knowledge about Sleep Hygiene. This study aims to identify the influence of health education on knowledge about Sleep Hygiene among the elderly in Hamlet III, Selemak Village, Hamparan Perak Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. The research method used was a quantitative descriptive quasi- experimental design with the Wilcoxon test. The participants in this study were 40 elderly individuals residing in Hamlet III, Selemak Village, Hamparan Perak Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. Based on the research results, the influence of health education on knowledge about Sleep Hygiene among the elderly was significant, with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant change in knowledge about Sleep Hygiene among the elderly in Hamlet III, Selemak Village, Hamparan Perak Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. The conclusion of this study is that health education significantly impacts knowledge about Sleep Hygiene among the elderly in Hamlet III, Selemak Village, Hamparan Perak Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. This research is expected to increase awareness among the elderly about Sleep Hygiene to enhance sleep quality. | en_US |
