Child education does not only occur at school but also at home. Parents, as the first and foremost educators, have a significant responsibility to provide the necessary support for a child's development. Inadequate parental involvement in a child's upbringing has a significant impact on elementary students' academic achievement. Poor parenting practices include a lack of attention, guidance, and parental involvement in the child's educational process. When parents fail to provide a supportive environment and do not actively engage in their child's academic activities. students often struggle to understand the material, lack motivation, and experience a decline in academic performance. This study employs a descriptive quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling techniques, resulting in 82 samples. The instruments used include a family parenting questionnaire with 15 statements and student report cards. The study utilized the Spearman Rho text with a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between family parenting styles and student academic achievement. The results show that out of 82 students at Harapan Elementary School, Paya Bakung Village, the majority had a democratic parenting style, with 42 students (51.22%). This study suggests that parents should adopt a supportive parenting style to enhance their child's academic performance.
