Perbedaan Tekanan Darah dan Gula Darah pada Lansia dengan Diabetes Melitus dan Tanpa Diabetes Melitus dengan Perlakuan Senam Lansia di Desa Paluh Kurau Kecamatan Hamparan Perak

Abstract

Elderly Exercise is one of the physical activities that can be performed by the elderly to maintain physical fitness by helping to eliminate free radicals in the body. This study aims to identify the differences in blood pressure and blood sugar levels between elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus and those without diabetes mellitus undergoing elderly exercise treatment. The research design used is descriptive comparative with a time series approach. The sample size consists of 34 elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus and 123 elderly individuals without diabetes mellitus. The sampling technique employed is proportionate stratified random sampling. The bivariate analysis used is the Mann-Whitney test. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant difference in the variable of blood pressure between elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus and those without diabetes mellitus undergoing elderly exercise. However, for the variable of blood sugar levels, there is a significant difference (Sig=0.000) between elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus and those without diabetes mellitus undergoing elderly exercise in Paluh Kurau Village, Hamparan Perak Subdistrict.
