    Abstract
The Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH) is a non-pharmacological diet strategy designed primarily to reduce hypertension and prevent potential complications. Hypertensive patients following the principles of this diet are encouraged to achieve optimal blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of DASH diet education on diet adherence and blood pressure among hypertensive patients in Tanjung Mulia Hilir. The research uses a quasi- experimental design with a pretest-posttest one-group approach. The sample size for this study is 64 respondents, selected through non-probability sampling using purposive sampling methods. The results of this study indicate that the variable of diet adherence among hypertensive patients showed an average increase of 33.36 in 62 respondents. For the variable of blood pressure, the study found an average reduction of 33.55 mmHg in systolic blood pressure among 53 respondents and a reduction of 33.38 mmHg in diastolic blood pressure among 46 respondents before and after receiving DASH education. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed significant results with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) for diet adherence and a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05) for blood pressure. This indicates that there is a significant effect of DASH diet education on diet adherence and blood pressure among hypertensive patients in Tanjung Mulia Hilir. Based on these findings, it is recommended for future researchers to include samples from different locations and demographic data for more generalized results, and to conduct the study over a longer period to observe changes in blood pressure and diet adherence.
