Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott is one of the superior grasses that has high production, high nutritional content and fast regrowth. One of the efforts to increase the productivity of Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott through fertilization using broiler manure fermented using local microorganisms (MOL). This research was conducted from July to October, 2023 at the Greenhouse and Field Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern with 2 factors (2x3), namely factor I dose of MOL (P0 = 0%, P1 = 2%) and factor II dose of broiler manure (M1 = 80 g/polybag, M2 = 160 g/polybag and M3 = 240 g/polybag), with 3 replications. The parameters of this study consisted of plant height, leaf length, leaf width, number of tillers, fresh matter production and dry matter production.
The results showed that the dose of MOL had a significant effect (P<0.05) on plant height, leaf length, leaf width, fresh matter production and dry matter production. The dose of broiler manure had a significant effect (P<0.05) on plant height, leaf length, leaf width, number of tillers, fresh weight, dry weight. There was a significant interaction effect (P<0.05) between the dose of MOL and broiler manure on plant height, leaf length, leaf width, number of tillers, fresh matter production and dry dry matter production of Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott. The best results were obtained in the P1M3 treatment with 2% MOL dose and 240 g/polybag broiler manure dose.
