Abstract

A healthy city is a city that is clean, safe and healthy for residents to live in. Medan City still faces challenges in realizing its status as a healthy city. One of the main problems faced in healthy industrial and office areas is the high level of pollution caused by industrial activities in the city. Air pollution and waste from industry can have a negative impact on public health and the surrounding environment. In this context, the Department of Industry has an important role in supervising and regulating industrial activities so that they run in accordance with applicable health and environmental standards. This research aims to analyze the strategies used by the Department of Industry in realizing the Healthy City Program in healthy industrial and office areas in Medan City in 2024. This research method uses a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach where the research departs from the phenomena found in the field and then develops in depth. The research results emphasize the importance of providing basic health services for communities around industrial and office areas as the main supporting factor in supporting the success of the Healthy City Program. The Department of Industry is also expected to strengthen compliance with related regulations, such as environmental requirements, halal certification, and guaranteed health services for workers, as well as being a focus in efforts to create healthy and sustainable industrial and office areas
