Analisis Keluhan Dermatosis pada Pekerja Pabrik Tahu Gopal Kota Medan
Analysis of Dermatosis Complaints in Gopal Tofu Factory Workers in Medan City
Abstract
Dermatosis complaints are inflammation that occurs in the skin due to contact
with toxic or allergenic materials. Tofu factory workers are at risk of dermatosis
where workers often come into contact with materials that are toxic or allergenic,
such as vinegar used in the tofu agglomeration process. This study aims to
analyze dermatosis complaints in gopal tofu factory workers in Medan City. This
type of research uses descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional study
approach. The number of samples was 36 workers of gopal tofu factory in Medan
City. The results showed that workers who felt complaints of dermatosis were 32
people (88.9%), with the age of workers ≥37 years as many as 25 people (86.2%),
length of contact <8 hours as many as 22 people (88.%), working period ≥5 years
as many as 21 people (87.5%) with poor personal hygiene as many as 19 people
(100%) and did not use personal protective equipment as many as 26 people
(100%). Workers find it troublesome if they have to wash their hands with running
water using a water hose, this is because the gopal tofu factory is not provided
with a hand washing place / sink and the owner of the gopal tofu factory does not
provide special soap for washing hands, so they have to provide their own soap,
this is what makes workers not use soap when washing their hands. Most workers
do not use personal protective equipment because workers feel like feeling stiff,
feel the use of gloves does not play a role when working, feeling uncomfortable
and disturbing during work activities. So it is recommended that factory owners
know to provide hand washing stations and soap that does not irritate the skin
and pay attention to workers to wear gloves during the production process
