This undergraduate thesis is based on the overlapping territorial claims topic between Indonesia and China. This overlapping claim to territorial waters occurred after the publication of China's latest map covering the entire territorial waters of the South China Sea (SCS) in 2009. China is also known to have classified the SCS region as including the North Natuna Sea (NNS), which is at least the name for Indonesia, as its traditional fishing zone which then allows fishermen from China to freely catch fish in the area. The overlapping territorial claims between Indonesia and China are of course based on the national interests of each country which then has direct implications for the foreign politics of the two countries. This increasingly led Indonesia and China to be in an unfavorable situation even during the administration of President Joko Widodo, especially in 2019-2022. Indonesia and China then jointly pursued various diplomacies actions, which is cooperative maritime diplomacy aimed at resolving the conflict between the two countries in the NNS region. Cooperative Maritime Diplomacy between Indonesia and China is a foreign policy implemented by both countries as a result of the national interests of Indonesia and China in NNS. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques based on secondary data obtained or collected from various previous studies.en_US
