    Abstract
Dietary intake in pre-elderly people with hypertension is very important to note, unbalanced intake of carbohydrates, protein, fat, fiber and sodium in the body will cause health problems for pre-elderly people with hypertension. The imbalance of nutrient intake in the body will have an impact on nutritional status. Nutritional status plays a very important role in determining a person's health status. Well- maintained pre elderly nutritional status will have an impact on improving health levels, so that an active and productive life will be maintained and can slow the development of disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutrient intake and the nutritional status of pre-elderly people with hypertension at the Perbaungan Health Center, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research method carried out was analytical using a cross sectional approach. The location of this research was carried out in the working area of the Perbaungan Health Center, Labuhanbatu Regency. The sample in this study were 49 pre elderly aged 45-59 years. The results of the study using Spearmen's rank correlation, namely there is a relationship between carbohydrate, protein and fat intake with BMI with a p value = 0.000 on carbohydrates and protein and p = 0.005 on fat (<0.05) and there is no relationship between fiber and sodium intake with BMI with p = 0.084 and p = 0.921 (>0.05). There was an association between fat intake and RLPP with p=0.000 (>0.05) and no association between carbohydrate, protein, fiber and sodium intake and RLPP with p=0.728, p=0.405, p=0.487 and p=0.453 (p>0.05) respectively. It is hoped that the Perbaungan Health Center can carry out prevention efforts through DASH education which is one of the eating arrangements intended for people with hypertension and can help achieve and maintain a stable body weight
