Faktor yang Berhubungan dengan Kejadian Diare pada Anak Usia Sekolah Dasar di Tempat Pembuangan Akhir SampahTerjun Tahun 2024
Factor Related to the Incidence of Diarrhea Among School-Aged Children at Terjun Dumpsite in 2024
Abstract
Diarrhea is the condition of having three or more bowel movements in one day in
liquid or watery form. Mortality of diarrhea occurs 90 percent in the South Asia
region. The incidence of diarrhea in Indonesia in 2018 was 7.0 percent.
The incidence of diarrhea in North Sumatera was 9.1 percent. The incidence of
diarrhea in Terjun Dumpsite is 2.3 percent. This study aims to determine the factor
related with the incidence of diarrhea among school-aged children at Terjun
Dumpsite in 2024. This research method uses a cross-sectional design with a
purposive sampling technique. The number of samples used in the study was 100
samples. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using the chi-square test showed
the incidence of diarrhea in school-aged children at the Terjun Dumpsite was 30%.
Bivariate results showed there was a significant relationship between gender
(p<0.050), maternal knowledge (p<0.050), hand washing with soap habits
(p<0.050), nail hygiene (p<0.050), clean water sources (p<0.050), drinking water
facilities (p<0.050), latrine condition (p<0.050), waste disposal facilities
(p<0.050), wastewater disposal facilities (p<0.050), and health care facilities
(p<0.050), with the incidence of diarrhea in school-aged children at Terjun
Dumpsite. However, there was no significant relationship between age (p>0.05)
and snacking habits (p>0.05) with the incidence of diarrhea among school-aged
children in Terjun Dumpsite. Maintaining personal hygiene and environmental
sanitation should be necessary for school-aged children with monitoring by each
child's mother
